Benatina travertine is natural monument and protected landscape area Vihorlat located in Slovakia. It was declared natural monument in order to protect geological outcrop that forms the most easterly located travertine lake in Slovakia with occurrence of petrified mollusk. 

 

Beautiful countryside scenery and crystal clear water attracts to take a plunge in a peaceful retiring environment with few people around.  It resembles Croatian stony shore with clear if a bit cold water where the creation of travertine continues to this day.
