Vihorlat (1 076 m a.s.l.) is the highest peek in vucanic mountain range Vihorlatské vrchy. On its summit lays the smallest protected landscape area in Slovakia PLA Vihorlat. On the noth side of the hill lays training military zone Valaškovce therefore there is no official tourist path leading there.

Major phenomenons of PLA Latorica are rare and precious wetlands and bogs forming a nationwide unique natural complex.

Senianske rybníky is major ornithologic locality in Central Europe. It is formed by complex of commercially used fishponds and National nature reservation Senné rybníky. The region is a major nestling site for water and near water nestling birds.
